Transportation |
The school transportation can be availed by the students. There will be regular
bus transport for children with stops in main points in the city. Children have
to take the nearest existing stops as there will be no change in the routes that
ply. The proper identification of the person responsible for the pick up and drop
off of students at the given stop has to be submitted at the time of admission.
In the absence of the concerned person at the stops, the children will be brought
back to the school and will have to be collected from the school itself. A month's
written notice will have to be submitted to the school to avail or withdraw the
transport facilities. Please note that the school reserves the right to re-route
or withdraw bus services at their discretion.
Children not using the school transport must be dropped off and collected from the
school gate by producing necessary identification as per the school rules and regulations.

Food & Nutrition |
The health of the children is a matter of primary concern at Alok Vidyashram for
we firmly believe that a healthy mind grows and functions productively only in a
healthy body. We are, therefore, quite conscious to a very healthy atmosphere in
the school. Provision has been made for supplying clean, boiled and properly filtered
drinking water in the school premises. The food to be supplied by the school will
be nutritious and healthy as recommended by a dietitian and prepared from fresh
and properly cleaned ingredients. However, we shall be able to maintain and enhance
our efforts only with the fullest co-operation of the parents. It is recommended
that the parents submit their ward's health record including inoculating certificates
at the time of admission.

Extra Curricular Activities |
Alok Vidyashram aims at bringing out the latent potentialities and activating the
dormant faculties of the young learner. Extra and co –curricular activities will
facilitate this aim. The school has arranged adequate facilities for indoor and
outdoor sports suitable for the growing children. Guided co-curricular activities such as Value education, Dramatics, Drawing and Painting, Swimming, Eastern Music, Western Music, Clay Work, Paper Craft, Doll Making, Horse Riding, Hurdle Crossing. Sanskrit classes, Geeta shloka, Meditation and Yoga Classes will be conducted on a regular basis under expert supervision. As the children reach higher grades, appropriate activities will be
further introduced.
Emphasis is laid on the need to balance in-class and out-of-class life. The students
work hard in class, but they will also utilize energy for diverse activities such
as issues, publishing school magazines and newsletters, organizing guest lectures,
participating in inter and intra-school competitions. The philosophy of co-curricular
activity programs is to provide wholesome, rewarding and stimulating opportunities
for the students. We believe co-curricular activities provide students the opportunity
to develop initiative, leadership, and responsibility. From these experiences a
student will have the opportunity to build character and skills needed to lead successful
and productive lives.
Interest Clubs will be conducted after school hours and on Saturdays. Students can volunteer and join the clubs of their choice to enhance and cultivate their interests and aptitude. Students above Class: IV can opt between Chinese, Newari and French languages as a third choice of language.
UCMAS is being made compulsory for Classes: U.K.G. to VI as it greatly helps
in the cultivation of mathematical skills.
